Perceived Organizational Culture Among Government and Private High School Teachers

The teachers in an educational institution have enough potential for growth, development and advancement for the wellbeing of students and society as well. Their potentialities may be further developed and multiplied by enforcing congenial and healthy organizational culture in both govt. and private schools. The present study is attempted to probe the dynamics of organizational culture in the govt. and private schools by using OCTAPACE scale developed and standardized by Uday Pareek (2003). Data is based on the responses from120 teachers (60males & 60 females) drawn randomly from different schools of Jamshedpur. Analysis of variance and correlation-coefficient were applied for the analysis of collected data. The result revealed that the most dominant components of culture in schools are openness, autonomy and collaboration. The result further revealed that highest positive correlation is between Openness and Collaboration.
