A Psychological Study of Organizational Citizenship Behaviour and Job Involvement Among Teachers of Private and Government Schools of Jamshedpur

Abstract

Research on organizational citizenship behaviour and job involvement at the work place is increasingly gaining momentums. The broad objective of the present study was to examine the organizational citizenship behaviour and job involvement in the private and Govt. Schools. It was also aimed to find out the relationship between organizational citizenship behaviour and job involvement. The sample of present study consisted of 60 teachers from govt. and private schools of Jamshedpur. Organizational citizenship behaviour scale developed by Bakshi and Kumar (2009) and job involvement scale by Singh (1984) were used. This data were analysed by means of t test and correlation. The findings revealed that govt. and private school teachers differed significantly in terms of job involvement. The finding also revealed that high and low experience teachers also differed significantly in the experience of job involvement. The results further revealed that there was positive correction between organizational citizenship behaviour and job involvement.
