A Comparative Study of Job satisfaction among Private and Government Secondary School Teachers

Abstract

The present investigation was aimed to make a comparative study of job satisfaction among private and government secondary school teachers. It was hypothesized that private school teachers would have better job satisfaction as compared to government school teachers. The sample comprisesd 300 senior secondary school teachers, 150 each from private and government schools. In each group there were 75 male and 75 female teachers. The respondents were randomly selected from different private and government secondary schools of Aligarh. The age of the respondents ranged from 22-50 years. Job satisfaction was assessed by Job Satisfaction scale (Kumar & Mutha 1985). For analyzing the data and obtaining the appropriate results t-test was used. Results revealed that private school teachers have significantly high job satisfaction than government school teachers.
