Effect of type of School, Socio-economic Status and Alienation on home adjustment of Adolescents

Abstract

The present study was conducted to examine empirically the main and interactive effect of type of school, socio-economic status and alienation on home adjustment among school students. A sample of 250 students was selected randomly from high schools of Rohtak and Sonepat districts of Haryana and were administered Hindi adaptation of Bell Adjustment Inventory, Alienation Scale and Socio-economic status scale. 2 x 2 x 2 factorial design was employed with two levels of alienation: High alienated and low alienated, two level of SES: High SES and Low SES and two types of schools: Govt. schools and Private schools. The analysis was carried out by employing three way analysis of variance. The findings suggested that the main effect of alienationwas found to be associated with home adjustment. First order and second order interactions were found non-significant
