Abstract

Information and Communication Technology has become indispensible from class room teaching to personal day to day work. Plethora of information can be retrieved on a very short span of time. It has got a deeper impact in our teaching and learning. Present study is undertaken to study the effect of ICT usage and overall performance of B Ed student teachers. On the randomly selected sample of 150 B. Ed. students from Faizabad (presently Ayodhya) District of U.P. with an objective to analyze the impact of usage of ICT on overall Performance. An ICT Usage Scale (ICTUS) was developed and validated for the subject. Descriptive statistics were employed for the analysis. The usage of ICT at different level found having effect in overall achievements. The result supported the positive effect of ICT in overall performance. A significant difference is revealed in the overall performance between high and low usage of ICT facilities by the B Ed pupil teachers. Though, Gender has no significant difference in usage of ICT but the students from urban and rural differed in their usage of ICT. The study is concluded with recommendations / suggestions which may be useful for planning and practical approaches.
