A Study of Gender and Age Influence on Self Efficacy Among Doctors and Nurses

Abstract

In the present study an attempt has made to find out the self efficacy among doctors and nurses. A total of 600 (Doctors-300 and Nurses-300) samples were selected from Bangalore City and were administered with SelfEfficacy Scale developed by Singh and Kumar. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent sample t test and two way ANOVA. Result of the study revealed that there is a significant difference between doctors and nurses on Self efficacy, Doctors had higher self- efficacy compared to nurses. However no significant gender difference was observed among both the groups in self efficacy. There is a significant variation observed between Age group andself efficacy, respondents belong to age group of above 30 years had high self efficacy than compared to those group who are below 30 years of age. Interaction effect of doctor’s age below 30 years respondents were shown to be high on self efficacy than nurse’s age below 30 years respectively.
