Understanding Quality of Life, Trust and Psychological Wellbeing of Indian Police Personnel

Abstract

The present study aimed at exploring the quality of life, trust and well-being among police personnel. The current study adopted three measures like quality of life (WHO-QOL Brief), general trust scale, and the Ryff’s scale of psychological well-being. Total participants were 100 including 54 males and 46 females. Participants were selected from CRPF camp in Delhi and NCR region using simple random sampling technique. The result indicates that males scored high on quality of life as compared to females. Furthermore, the result showed that female trust on others more as compared to males. Males believe that trusting others is risky as compared to females. On psychological well being dimension, it was noted that males have high level of autonomy and environmental mastery as compared to females where as on dimensions such as personal growth, personal relations, purpose in life, and self acceptance females scored than their counterparts.
