Social Maturity of Adolescents of Different Castes of Chhattisgarh State

A research was conduct on the adolescents of different castes of Chhattisgarh. The main objective was to find out the effect of caste on the social maturity of adolescence of Chhattisgarh. For harmonious development an adolescence must-have social maturity. Social Maturity reflects in the form of his behavior, when we compared with their peer group if an adolescent is socially measured he\ she will be more polite, self-confident, adjust with others in different circumstances. He \She will be away from bullying or conflicts and always ready to agree with the decisions given by others and respects to other’s opinions than we can say that he\she is socially mature person. In the present study a sample of 480 students 120 general, 120 SC, and 120 ST and 120 OBC students of class 11th are taken as a sample by Random sampling method. Nalini Rao (2006) Social maturity Scale was used as a tool to collect the data. The finding indicates that there is no significant effect of caste on the social maturity of adolescence.
