Creativity and Job Satisfaction – A Study on Teachers Engaged in General and Special School

Abstract

The aim of the present investigation was to study creativity and job satisfaction as expressed by the teachers engaged in general and special schools. Accordingly, a group of 200 teachers (100 teachers from general schools, 50 from physically handicapped and 50 from mentally retarded) were selected as sample in this investigation. A General Information Schedule, Creative Teaching Factor Questionnaire and Job Satisfaction Scale were used as tools. Both qualitative and quantitative analyses were done. The findings revealed that creativity and level of job satisfaction as expressed by the teachers engaged in general school is comparatively higher than those engaged in special schools. Besides this, there is positive correlation between creativity and job satisfaction. It is suggested that orientation and refresher training may help the teachers to increase creativity and also level of job satisfaction specially who are engaged in special school.
