Depression and Quality of Life ofParents of Differently Abled Children

The present study was conducted on 140 parents (Mothers =70, Fathers = 70) in Haridwar, Uttarakhand (India). The age group of parents varied from 25-50 years and for children it was 6-16 years. The aim of the present study was to compare the level of depression and quality of life among the parents of differently abled children. Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and WHOQOL-BREF were used to assess depression and quality of life of parents. The study shows that there is significant difference between mothers and fathers levels of depression and quality of life of differently abled children.
