Parental Bonding Styles Among Higher Secondary School Students

Abstract

The present study investigated the parental bonding styles among higher secondary school students. The research sample was comprised of one hundred and twenty subjects (N=120) who were equally categorized in two groups (boys student and girls student of both English and Bengali medium government school). All of them were studying in class XI and their mean age was 17 years. Purposive sampling technique was used to select participants. Data were collected by Parental Bonding Instrument (PBI), developed by Gordon Parker et al. The results showed that there is no gender difference among the higher secondary school students in regard to their parenting style. However in regard to medium of instruction significant differences exist.
