Emotional Maturity and Self-Concept of Secondary School Students in relation to Type of School, Gender and Locale

Abstract

The present study was conducted to examine empirically the main effect of type of school, locale and gender on emotional maturity and self concept. A sample of 120 secondary students was selected randomly from high schools of Rohtak and Sonipat district and were administered of Emotional Maturity Scale (EMS) (Singh & Bhargava, 1991) and Children’s Self Concept Scale (Ahluwalia, 2002). The data were analyzed by 't' test and coefficient of correlation. The results revealed that the emotional maturity and self concept of secondary school students is found to be significantly correlated and the main effect of gender and locale was found to be associated with emotional maturity.
