Abstract

The objective of the present study was to ascertain the impact of gender on the perception of classroom climate and level of achievement motivation among post graduate students of Tripura University. The study also intended to find out the relationship between classroom climate and achievement motivation of the subjects. For the said purpose the study was carried out among 100 male post graduate students and 100 female post graduate students. Classroom Climate Scale and Achievement Motivation Inventory were used for data collection. Three hypotheses were formulated and they were verified by applying suitable statistical tests. Findings revealed that male students have positive perception of classroom climate as well as they are more academically motivated in comparison to female students. The study also revealed a positive relationship between classroom climate and achievement motivation
