Enhancing Responsibility among Open-School Students: Development of an Intervention Package

Abstract

Education aims at the overall development of the individual and school is the agency through which it is accomplished. Open-schooling gives a chance to those people fails to attend regular stream due to many reason. Responsibility is a task or commitment to complete satisfactorily that an individual should perform. Role of responsibility is relevant among openschool students as they are handling multiple roles in life. This study tried to develop an intervention package to enhance responsibility among open-school students. There were 150 participants in the study, 10 participants in each group. ‘Responsibility indicator’ (Rekha & Manikandan, 2012) was used to collect data. Interventions used for the study were Guided Somato Psychic Relaxation, Person cantered Counselling, Assertiveness training, and Surya Namaskaram. The interventions were given to each 15 groups for 8 months. Result revealed that interventions and was effective in enhancing responsibility of open-school students to a considerable level.
