Employment Differentials and Suicidal Ideation

Abstract

This study was conducted to ascertain the effects of employment status on suicidal ideation. Sample comprised 95 participants having the age range between 21and 40 years (employed = 45, unemployed = 50). They were administered the Suicidal Ideation Scale. This scale has 20 items with five alternative responses. Its reliability and validity are high. Data were analyzed by applying descriptive and inferential statistics and employment status was found to be a potential variable in suicidal ideation. Results are discussed in the light of their implications.
