The present study aims at formulating a computerized training on pattern recognition for the children having specific learning disability. After screening by intelligence and learning disability test ten children (age -11-17) having different types of specific learning disability were taken. The pattern recognition task was designed on the basis of the manifested symptoms of SLD in each participant. The entire training tool was developed in direct RT software. Ten sessions, each of an hour, were provided once in a week to each participant. The training program was also focused on the transfer of training in paper pencil mode. Stimulus was presented in the LCD screen and the participants responded through pressing the specific key. Two pilot studies were conducted for preparation and standardization of the training tool. In the pre and post training sessions the pattern recognition scores as well as learning disability scores were measured. For data analysis Wilcoxon signed rank test was used between the pre and post measures. The results showed an increment of pattern recognition score and decrement in learning disability scores which led us to conclude a facilitating effect of the training program in specific learning disability.
